The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was released with the operating system Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). The new smartphone MiUI v.7.0 (30% faster response time and 10% longer battery time) is fully based on Android Lollipop as well. These smartphones are still cutting edge with a lot of users, but Android has released a new operating system, Marshmallow. However, an official version of the Marshmallow software has not been released by Android for use on the Redmi Note 3.
According to information found on the Xiaomi forums, the company has already announced the release of new Marshmallow software for Redmi Note 3 at some point in the future. What does this mean for Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 users who are currently using the old Lollipop software? Are users stuck with the old, less stable Lollipop software? The short answer is NO! Steps for Downloading Cyanogen Mode 13
- Charge the Redmi Note 3 to 50% or more to ensure the phone has enough battery power to complete the installs.

- Unlock Bootloader and root and install TWRP.

- The user should go to the TWRP Home screen and click on Install. Select the Cyanogen Mode 13 ROM for the Redmi Note 3 zip from the list of files. Swipe to confirm flashing. The flashing process should take about five minutes.
- Once the user has completed flashing the Cyanogen Mode 13 ROM, flash the Gapps package. This can be done by going into “Install” and locating the Gapps zip file. Swipe to confirm and after the Gapps file has the installation part of the process is complete.
- The final step of the setup is to clear the cache and boot the Redmi Note 3. The first boot after the install may take a few minutes so be patient.
